MonsterTrucks.net - the monster truck homepage


Welcome to the, long-overdue, new MonsterTrucks.net! As one of the longest running and most visited Monster Truck related websites it is time for some changes to make our site even better. Lets take a quick run through of what has changed. Update 1/25 - Fixed a bunch of things with the site, in final stages of testing for the submit and news links, should be up real soon. New Look - The site has a new streamlined look which puts more information on each page, meaning less clicking around for you. Web Directory - This section is pretty much the same as it has been. It works well so there's not much of a need to change it. Links have been gone through and cleaned up. A lot of non-functional sites have been removed. A few of the smaller categories and subcategories have been merged together. We will need to do a lot of work to add new sites that are missing. Live Events & TV Shows - Back when this site started getting information on new events was a full time job. The promoters either didn't have websites or didn't keep them up to date and getting event information required phone calls to them and the trucks they hired. Now, they generally do a pretty good job of keeping their sites up to date. Instead of trying to keep up-to-date with all of the events (an impossible task these days with how many great events there are from coast to coast) we now post links to their lists of events. Just click on the link to your favorite promoter and check for an event in your area! Monster Truck News - And now on to the main part of the new site, the News. This isn't going to work like your usual news site. We will not be posting news of our own, or any news for that matter. What we will be doing is posting links to news, press releases, new photo galleries, new websites and anything else that's newsworthy or may be interesting to you. Think of it like a Digg especially for Monster Trucks! You will be able to comment and discuss each item posted. It's going to take a few weeks for this area to build with new items posted and more and more people commenting. The new Monster Truck News, Commenting and Submission features are in the final state of Quality Assurance and Security testing and will be made available shortly! There's one more new thing... - There's one more new content related area planned for the new site, but I wasn't ready to launch it quite yet. Being that it is brand new and it's 100% made up of brand new content, I wanted to take some more time to build it up before launching it. It's one of those things where it's ready when it's ready and I'm not going to try and put a date on it. And there's... - I am also working on a brand new Monster Mania site. Yes, it's coming back and will be better than ever. It's all about MonsterTrucks.net right now, so more on that later (but it might be a good time to add it back to your bookmarks). Comments?
